Maple Terraces

Maple Terraces is a multiplex project for the City of Kelowna, designed by MUTARQ. It consists of a single building with four dwelling units of various sizes, offering both 2- and 3-bedroom options, including one that is accessible-friendly.

For this commission, the studio was tasked with developing a full drawing package for a prototype multiplex, which had to be permit-ready and fully compliant with the BC Building Code, while keeping the entire workflow inside Rhino.

VisualARQ was key to making this possible. Its plan and section tools became the backbone of the documentation process, enabling the team to generate precise drawings directly from the 3D model. This workflow offered a smooth transition from traditional CAD, while ensuring that most of the drawing work updated automatically whenever the model changed.

This project confirmed that Rhino, together with VisualARQ, can provide a robust, cost-effective, and flexible platform for complete architectural documentation.
