Casa Caleta

This project features a residential apartment in Costa Rica, designed by the Costa Rican architect Javier Castro, and modeled with Rhino and VisualARQ.

Project description

The house is located in Playa Potrero, Costa Rica, in a residential area with dry tropical forest characteristic of the north coast of the country, with a marked change between the dry season (the colors of nature become terracotta and brown) and the rainy season (the assorted green colors).

The project was designed to enjoy the common areas, the pool, the terrace, and the minibar, but also the nature and the sun.

All the spaces are connected to the green zones, where there are wide eaves to protect from the rain. The objective was to make an optimized design to be built and sold, so in the design process, VisualARQ was key to allow going through different iterations of the project design and interaction with different professionals (including budget).

The house was designed in 4 months from the beginning until the approval of the plans, and the construction was finished at the end of 2022.

The renders and video animation were created with Lumion.
