Work with VisualARQ Grasshopper styles in Revit with Rhino.Inside

This video (tutorial) shows how to work with the VisualARQ Grasshopper styles (VisualARQ objects driven by Grasshopper definitions), in Revit running VisualARQ inside Revit.

This connection lets you work with the VisualARQ parametric objects directly in Revit, which are generated as Revit’s Furniture object types.

This connection is possible with the VisualARQ Grasshopper components, which let you retrieve the geometry and data of VisualARQ objects and connect them with the Revit components, (available in Grasshopper with the Rhino.Inside tool), and thus regenerate all geometry and data live in Revit, as native Revit Furniture object types.

The process can be explained in two steps: the first one is used to send the geometry, and the second one the metadata.

In the first part, the geometry of the Furniture object is referenced and exploded so it can be connected with the Revit’s component that generates a new Object Type (as a “Direct Shape”) and an instance of that object in the Revit model.

In the second part, all parameters that are stored in the Furniture object, are retrieved and converted into Revit’s “Shared Parameters”, so they can be finally assigned to the new Element that is sent to Revit.

With the VisualARQ pipeline component, it is possible to reference automatically all the VisualARQ Furniture objects in the scene, and through this Grasshopper script, regenerate them in Revit.

Remember that VisualARQ running inside Revit is only available for Rhino7, and it is necessary to install the Rhino.Inside for Revit plug-in.
